Meet the Federal Way Team Behind DryMark Restoration Federal Way

We’re the crew that shows up when water’s still moving through your subfloor or mold’s eating the paper face off your drywall. Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and insured before they ever pulled into a Federal Way driveway. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s The Haven Standard, Clause 1: a written price before work starts, every time, with no exceptions. We’ve restored homes from the lakefront properties near Steel Lake to the hillside builds off Enchanted Parkway, and we treat every job like the documentation will end up on an adjuster’s desk. Because it usually does.

Our People

Alicia Brennan, Owner

I started Back to Dry in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster watching homeowners lose tens of thousands because their restoration contractor couldn’t produce a moisture log or a dated photo. I built this company around the documentation gap, not around equipment. I still review every written scope before it goes out, and I’ll personally take a second-opinion call if you’ve got a competitor’s estimate that doesn’t add up. Federal Way’s my home market - I know which 1970s rambler developments have the old galvanized supply lines and where the water table sits high enough to wick into slab foundations. When I’m not on a job site, I’m usually arguing with my teenager about whether we really need a third dog. We don’t. We got one anyway.

Marcus T., Lead Water Technician

Marcus has been running extraction and drying crews for nine years, and he’s certified in Applied Structural Drying through IICRC. He can walk into a flooded basement in Federal Way, eye the material classification on your walls - whether it’s standard half-inch paper-faced drywall, moisture-resistant green board, or the older gypsum lath you still find in Midway pre-1980 builds - and tell you whether it’s a Category 2 loss that’ll dry in place or a tear-out. His specialty is psychrometric documentation: the daily moisture readings, vapor pressure differentials, and grain-per-pound calculations that turn restoration invoices into payable claims. Off the job, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles and will talk your ear off about 1970s Honda electrical systems if you let him.

Dana K., Senior Mold Remediation Installer

Dana holds her ACAC Mold Remediation Supervisor certification and has supervised containment builds on everything from a 400-square-foot crawl space in Lakeland North to a full attic remediation on a 4,200-square-foot custom home off Dash Point Road. She built her reputation on negative air chamber integrity - she won’t start remediation until her manometer reads steady negative pressure, and she’s caught two subcontractors trying to skip HEPA filtration on her watch. Dana’s the one who explains tertiary drying to homeowners in plain language: it’s the final phase where we drop humidity low enough that hidden moisture can’t reactivate spores in your wall cavities. She keeps a spreadsheet of every Federal Way HOA she’s worked with and which ones require third-party post-remediation clearance. Her side gig is competitive barbeque. She’s placed third in Pierce County twice.

James R., Service Coordinator

James answers the phones. More importantly, he answers them live, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - no voicemail trees, no “leave a message and we’ll call you back tomorrow” while your sump pump’s failed and water’s crossing your baseboards. He’s been with us four years and knows every Federal Way insurance adjuster by first name, which carriers require photo documentation in specific formats, and how to get a crew dispatched with a written scope already in the system. James coordinates our photo record protocol on every visit: timestamped, geotagged, uploaded to your file before the crew leaves. He grew up in the Twin Lakes area and still lives there with his two kids. He’ll remember your address from the last job and ask how the repair held up.

Elena V., Restoration Apprentice

Elena’s in her second year with us, rotating through every service line before she picks a specialty. She’s already IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) and Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT), and she’s shadowing Dana on mold containment builds this quarter. Elena grew up in a family of tradespeople - her father’s a plumber in Auburn, her mother’s an electrician - so she came in already speaking the language of moisture meters and thermal imaging. She asks more questions than anyone on the crew, which is exactly what you want in someone who’s going to be running her own jobs. She commutes from Tacoma and complains about I-5 traffic with the specificity of someone who has timed every alternate route.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

DryMark Restoration Federal Way operates independently under The Haven Standard, the same framework Alicia built in 2011 and applies across every job we touch. That means Clause 1 applies whether you’re calling about a toilet overflow in your Pacific Ridge townhome or a sewage backup at your commercial property on South 320th: a written price before any work starts, with no scope-creep additions once we’re inside. It means every visit produces a documented photo record, every drying job generates daily moisture logs to IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards, and every customer gets the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing, not as a verbal assurance that evaporates when the check clears. Our crew deploys professional-grade drying systems from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry - not because the brand names impress anyone, but because the documentation those machines produce is what gets your claim paid. We’re not a franchise. We’re independently owned and operated, and every person on this page has a name, a license number, and a direct line to Alicia if something’s not right.
